Abstract

The implications of applying microcontrollers in various fields attract a lot of interest to study them. However, there are some basic knowledge that needs to be prepared, namely basic knowledge related to the functions and types of components, electronic circuit analysis, and basic skills in programming. This can be obtained in several ways, one of which is by using simulation media. In the training activity, trainees will be introduced to the web application-based microcontroller simulation media, namely tinkercad. The tinkercad web-based application will provide an engaging training experience for trainees with visualization of electronic components that are close to their original form. In addition, the tinkercad web application has a simulation feature that can describe the results of designs built by training participants. In the implementation of the training, each participant will be presented basic material related to the functions and types of electronic components as well as the mechanism for designing a simple microcontroller-based automatic control system which is demonstrated using the tinkercad web application. The results of the training evaluation showed the enthusiasm and positive motivation of the trainees which was marked by the value of the evaluation results of the training implementation obtaining an average score of 96.3%. Post-training, it is expected that trainees can hone their skills and interests in the field of microprocessors by using tinkercad simulation media in accordance with technological developments
